In todays hectic and corporate marketplace, it's rare that customers get to know who they're buying their products from.
When husband and wife team, Raul and Resa Rossell first opened Lemon Rags in December 2005, they wanted to be a small friendly neighborhood specialty shop and focus on the basic wardrobe staple: the T-shirt.
And not just any t-shirt, but good quality tees from the best selection of tees around. They search high and low for the latest trends (as well as starting their own) and are always finding a variety of hard-to-find designs in the most comfortable materials available to men, women and children.
With Resa’s background in the fashion industry, and Raul’s background in music recording and film distribution, they have combined their love for music and fashion, and have created their vision of a down-to-earth, rock n’ roll, eco-friendly “mom n’ pop t-shirt shop”. New customers are greeted with Lemon Heads candy….returning customers get the candy as well as a first name greeting. If the name isn’t remembered the t-shirt they last bought definitely is.

There is a t-shirt for everyone; popular tee shirt lines include: premium rock line Trunk LTD., women's boutique, the rock-star-influenced line Worn Free, military influenced A. Kurtz, and the enormously popular Junk Food brand, to name a few. Lemon Rag’s own line of tees “Corporate Retail Still Sucks” was inspired by the T-shirt “Corporate Magazines Still Stuck”, which Kurt Cobain wore on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

Since it’s opening, Lemon Rags has quickly become the “mecca” for tee shirt lovers. Raul and Resa proudly thank their strong success to their patrons, which include neighbors, celebrities and musicians, instead of corporate financers. After just 2 years of doing business in Burbank, they’ve just recently opened their second store on the south side of Ventura Blvd., in Studio City, as well as an online boutique.
